Never Thought To Question Why has a secular philosophy that makes human needs and concerns its primary position. Never Thought To Question Why believes secular humanism most closely resembles our own values and beliefs.
Suppression of thought
Any effort to get someone to believe something without evidence should be viewed with suspicion and inquiry. Once we allow ourselves to believe something without evidence we open ourselves to manipulation, fraud, and all the dangers of gullibility. At the societal level, if left unchecked, efforts to denigrate human intelligence would quickly lead humanity to a dark age of fear and suffering.
All purveyors of the untrue have a dark and foreboding history of using religion and superstitious nonsense to manipulate and suppress people. Never Thought To Question Why believes that democracy is the best guarantee to protect human rights.
Since the very invention of religion and superstitions they have been a breeding ground for unfettered hate. The crusades, the holocaust, homophobia, northern Ireland, Shiite and Suuni Muslims…the list of hatred and violence and suffering these things cause is long and frightening. One only needs to read the news to be sickened and outraged everyday at the madness of hate religions and superstitions create.
Not everyone actually believes what they are peddling. Cons and cheats take advantage of people when they market nonsense. Televangelists rob the disabled of their life savings in exchange for promises of salvation and a sense of belonging. Unscrupulous manufacturers peddle pseudoscience on the promise of easy fixes to problems of all kinds. Never Thought To Question Why won’t stand for anyone profiting off of other people’s physical and psychological needs and wants in exchange for products and services that do nothing but lighten a person’s wallet.
In conclusion we here at Never Thought To Question Why thinks it is high time everyone put the needs of others and human civilization above religion, lies, hatred, fear and superstitious nonsense. Never Thought To Question Why asks all our readers to consider what life would be like for everyone if we put all of the time, effort and money that we put into scoring points for the afterlife and killing and hating each other into making the world a better place instead.
