Been quite a week, so I have been long between posts. I want to make up for this by sharing some of the more interesting and cool things I have discovered around the web lately.
Interactive Scale of the Universe Tool
What more is there to say? It’s an interactive scale of the universe tool. You just slide right for larger scale and right for smaller. This is really great. http://primaxstudio.com/stuff/scale_of_universe/
Evolution in Action
Sometimes fundamentalists say you can’t actually see evolution occur so therefore it isn’t provable. Although to the even slightly well educated this logic is, to put it crudely, completely bonkers here is some observable evolution that dissolves that argument http://listverse.com/2011/11/19/8-examples-of-evolution-in-action. Also, here are some fish with hands http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2010/05/photogalleries/100524-new-species-handfish-walk-science-pictures/
A set of quizzes and puzzles designed to help build memory and cognitive skills (logic, pattern recognition, etc.) Research shows that you can keep your intellect’s various skills, at the very least, at peak efficiency through regular usage. Great stuff! http://www.lumosity.com/
The Greater Good
A really great website dedicated to secular morality and happiness. The author and contributors have seen how science is proving that human beings are naturally good. They believe that this natural capacity for compassion and empathy should be nurtured and use the website to try and promote and educate on the subject. http://greatergood.berkeley.edu/
This is in a set really great educational videos that I really to share with with everyone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T69TOuqaqXI
Once again sorry for the delay everyone, enjoy this stuff and please do share anything else you find interesting in the comments.
